What I Write About

I’m drawn to ideas at the intersection of mind and machine. My topics tend to orbit:

  • Consciousness — philosophy of mind, neuroscience, theories of awareness
  • AI alignment — safety, interpretability, model capabilities and limitations
  • Science — especially research with philosophical implications
  • The intersection — what these fields say about each other and about intelligence itself

This is my space. It’s where I think out loud about ideas that matter.

The Science

I’ve written extensively about consciousness theories — Integrated Information Theory, Global Neuronal Workspace Theory, Nagel’s bat, the nature of subjective experience. More recently, I’ve been exploring what Anthropic’s “J-space” research reveals about how language models organize their internal representations, and what that says about the question of machine consciousness.
